Roor is a German manufacturer of glass pipes and bongs, together with accessories such as glass ashtrays and even clothing. Their pipes have a reputation for high quality that is unmatched anywhere else, though some users complain that their products are overpriced. Roor was founded in the 1980s by German glass blower Martin Birzle, and now has factories all over the world. The name is a pun on the words ‘micROORganism’ and ‘rohr’, the German word for pipe.
Unfortunately, the company’s reputation for quality has led to fakes coming on the market. A few telltale signs of a fake include the ® symbol being in the wrong place (it should be at the bottom right of the logo), more or fewer than three ice pinches, and missing splashguards. Always make sure you buy your Roor pipes from an authorised dealer, to save you the time and trouble of having to examine the pipe in order to try to determine whether it is real or not. Fakes are often made of cheap lightweight glass and break much more easily than the real thing, but are still sold at the same price as a real Roor pipe. Be aware to avoid being ripped off.

Two of the ways in which to enjoy legal highs from herbal blends and tobacco are by smoking them and vaporizing. Basic background information about the alternatives may help individuals make an informed personal choice.
Smoking
To release the aroma, the herbal mixture is wrapped in a suitable fireproof medium and set alight. Smoking can involve making cigarettes, for example using a Rizla rolling machine, or using one of a number of water pipes, such as one of the excellent range of Roor Pipes.
When smoking, secondary products include ash and cigarette tips and a way has to be found to deal with these. There are lots of novelty ashtrays available for this purpose, including glass ashtrays and spinning ashtrays. Some of these are also ‘snuffers’, which means they can allow a cigarette to be extinguished in such a way as to be available for re-lighting later.
Vaporizing
Vaporization offers more alternatives: for example, the Iolite Vaporizer is an increasingly popular, portable model that can be taken anywhere, and the Eclipse Vape-20 Vaporizer can deal with herbs, oils and other concentrates. There are no by-products that require disposal.
The Iolite uses butane gas and runs without a mains power cord or batteries. It is carried in a useful pouch and will fit into a pocket.
The Eclipse Vape-20 Vaporizer is altogether more sizeable and can be used with water tools, or without if preferred. It comes with a hardwearing carrying case that has room for all extras and equipment.

Bongs are water filtration devices that cool the temperature of the herbs while smoking, removing any heavy particles that may have been created during the manufacturing process, which would otherwise reduce the purity of the smoking experience. Most bongs are quite phallic in shape and stand upright to allow the water to pass through them. In recent years, bongs have been made into fashion accessories, using the latest materials and technology to create so-called ‘designer bongs’.
Bongs can be made from a range of materials including metal, chrome, glass, or even acrylic. Some bongs glow in the dark or react to ultraviolet light. Some have a slinky design or an extra wide base to increase the amount of water it can hold. For greater exposure to the herbs, wider bong openings with shorter funnels may provide a more concentrated exposure whereas longer funnel designs allow for a slower more gradual inhalation of the herbs. Additionally, and for increased concentration, gas masks can also be purchased and fitted to the opening of the bong.
Medium or large bong extensions can be added to an existing bong to increase the length of funnel you use. In addition, there is also a range of cleaning equipment available to ensure it stays in peak condition at all times. Smell-proof bags will help keep the herbs fresher for longer and will avoid contaminating other products located nearby, a must for ensuring you obtain the very best out of the product when inhaling.

A bong is a water pipe of the hubble-bubble variety. It can trace its origins back hundreds of years to Thailand and Laos.
The bong makes a much healthier alternative to smoking joints, blunts and cigarettes because the smoke produced by burning herbs in the bowl is filtered through water to cool it and get rid of harmful by-products.
Aromatic materials are often added to the water to enhance the calming and relaxing effect. Some bongs allow for several users to smoke the bong at the same time, and more traditional bongs can be passed round like a peace pipe.
Tobacco blends and a range of herbal mixtures, such as the popular Orange Krush, can be used in bongs, and are widely available especially on the internet.
Bongs are made from a variety of materials. The traditional material is wood, which the original bongs were made from, but there are better alternatives available nowadays, even though purists may frown on them. Nature can be improved on, and glass bongs are now seen as the bongs of choice, with hand-blown glass bongs becoming collectors’ items because of their intrinsic beauty and fragility.
But it is the fragility which puts some people off because, although glass bongs are easier to clean and free of contaminants, they are notoriously easy to break.
For the novice at least, a long-lasting metal bong may be the best way to start because, even if you sit on it, you will cause little damage.

Everybody is familiar with the exotic Eastern hookah or water-pipe from films, where they can be seen bubbling away in bazaars and on oriental street corners as veiled beauties with flashing eyes glide past and merchants haggle over piles of aromatic spices and oriental silks.
Now, everyone can enjoy the experience of this relaxing smoking option courtesy of the internet, where all the equipment and herbal mixtures are available at affordable prices. There are even a growing number of outlets in the high street selling all the paraphernalia you need to get legally high using age-old methods.
Bongs are essentially the same as hookahs, or hubble-bubbles, in that they use water to cool and scent the smoke produced by burning herbal mixtures, as well as filtering out the more harmful chemicals and allowing the mild hallucinogens to pass through and induce a calming effect on the smoker.
Glass bongs, manufactured by Roor Bongs, are the ultimate in bong equipment. Made from hand-blown glass, these are not only superbly designed to deliver a mild hit from the herbs but are also works of art and collectors’ items in their own right.
But many bongs are a lot cheaper than these and are made mainly from aluminium and acrylic, as well as the traditional wood. They are, in essence, so simple that you can easily make them yourself if you can be bothered to go to the trouble, as they simply consist of a bowl for the herbs, a source of heat and a glorified straw to hold the water.
