What to Look for in a Stash Lighter

Stash lighters are handy devices that do more than provide the means of lighting your herbal cigarettes or igniting the herbs in your bong.  Lighters of this type also function as a storage device, allowing you to take along some herbs without the need to carry an additional case.  If this sounds like a practical device for your needs, here are some things to keep in mind before you purchase your first stash lighter.

One of the first things to consider is the overall design of the device.  For the most part, stash lighters look very much like any other type of pocket lighter.  However, some are somewhat bulky, and may not feel particularly comfortable in the pocket.  If you plan on carrying the lighter around in a jeans pocket or a lapel pocket of a jacket, you may want to go with a design that is a little slimmer and more compact.

At the same time, you also want the storage compartment on the lighter to be large enough to take along at least a few of your herbal cigarettes.  It is possible to find designs that are compact but also have a chamber large enough to store up to three cigarettes with relative ease.  If you plan on using the chamber for loose herbs, make sure the seal is airtight.

You also want to make sure the primary function of the stash lighter is reliable and efficient.  The quality of the flame should be at least what you can get with a good quality disposable lighter.  Many designs also allow you to adjust the height of the flame, something that may be important if you plan on using the lighter with a bong or a vaporizer.

It is possible to spend a substantial amount of money for the higher end stash lighters.  Fortunately, there are models that are perfectly workable, have an ample storage chamber, and cost very little more than the average cigarette lighter. Take some time to look around before making a purchase, and there is a good chance you can get exactly what you want without putting any stress on your budget.
