How to use a bong efficently

Using a bong efficiently requires a certain technique that can be quickly learned. Those intending to acquire a bong and use it for smoking legal herbs should do some research before actually purchasing their bong.

Bongs are a part of the paraphernalia used for smoking herbs. You can go to any website that specialises in this practice and look for bongs, water pipes or hookahs. Using the right terminology will help make your purchase as trouble free as possible.

For those new to using this device, never exhale through your mouth into the bong. Doing this will not only wet the substance you are smoking, but it will also wet anyone in your vicinity with the water from the bong. Instead, if you need to breathe out during your inhalation, breathe through your nose or simply take your mouth away and cover the top of the chamber to prevent smoke from escaping.

To control the amount of external air accessing your bong, and to control the air pressure inside the bong, most bongs have a ‘carb’ installed. In many bongs the carb is simply a hole that has been drilled into the chamber. Using a carb well requires some know-how and practice.

The water level in the bong can be critical and it should be filled to the correct level. If the chamber in the bong is too full it will wet the smoker during inhalation. Likewise, having too little water will not sufficiently cool the smoke, potentially burning the mouth or lungs.  The water in the bong should also be changed regularly. For smaller bongs this should be after each smoking session; for larger bongs this can be less often.
