Various Smoking Pipe Accessories

A device that is used for smoking flammable substances such as herbs and tobacco is called a smoking pipe. It typically consists of a small chamber for the combustion of the smoked substance, and a thin stem that usually ends in a mouthpiece, also known as a bit.

Smoking pipes are made from different materials. These include briar, meerschaum, clay, corncob, wood, glass and many more. Among these, glass pipes in particular have become a form of art. Smoking pipes have a variety of accessories. Aside from liquid pipe cleaner and pipe cleaners, there are other pipe accessories used. One of these accessories is the pipe reamer. It is a tool used for smoothing out the ‘cake’, to trim it down to a required size. Reamers usually come in different shapes and functionalities. Another pipe accessory is the pipe rack, a tool in which to store your pipes. For anyone who wants to get pleasure from pipe smoking, they may need several pipes to accommodate different activities and moods.

The smokers’ companion, which is also called the ‘multi-purpose pipe tool’, is a tool consisting of a tamper, a spoon and a pick; all are placed in a metallic holder. It is usually made similar to a pocket knife and frequently associated with a ‘knife blade reamer’. One more pipe accessory is the humidor, a can in which tobacco is stored. Fresh tobacco is placed in it and, when sealed, it will maintain the tobacco indefinitely. A main alternative use of a humidor is the re-moistening of dried tobacco. To do this, a source of tobacco moisture must be added to the humidor prior to sealing.
