Choosing a quality refillable lighter
A lot of casual smokers aren’t too particular with the type of lighters that they use. However, if you are one of the few who want to invest in a good lighter, there are a few things you need to consider.
It is important to find the right balance between quality and price. There are different types of lighters in the market, from the simple wick lighter to the newer torch lighters. If you are particular about the price, it is best to start with simple butane lighter. Butane lighters are the most common type and are readily available at most stores. This type of lighter can easily be refilled and some brands even come with their very own fuel gauge.
Most simple lighters have a flint system of ignition. Though this type of ignition system requires you to occasionally replace the flint when it gets worn, it is the most reliable ignition system available. Newer lighters have a system called the piezo electric ignition system. When choosing lighters with this new ignition system, make sure you buy a quality brand, as this system usually falters in lighters made with cheap materials.
If you want to play it safe, purchase a lighter from a popular brand, such as the trusty Zippo, Nibo, and Xitar. However, if you really want to spend money, you can purchase a bespoke lighter complete with engraving. There are a number of customized lighters available on-line with different designs and engravings. These lighters usually require only refilling.
Zippo lighters usually represent good value for money, and they can be refilled. Zippo do some really cool branded stuff as well.
