Making your own improvised vaporizer
A vaporizer is a device used in the alternative way of smoking called vaporisation. Most smokers use this device not only because it produces no particulate matter and/or tar but it also provides them with no taste of smoke. It also helps reduce the concentrations of harmful gases, including carbon monoxide. Vaporizers are commonly used in the United States to inhale tobacco, aromatherapy treatments, and herbal blends.
Vaporizers come in different types and are sometimes hard to find; however, you can create one using the scraps you can find at home. The things you’ll need are a bottle with a metal or plastic cap, gloves, plastic straws or tubing, a sharp knife, electrical or duct tape, a light bulb, and a soldering iron.
The first step is to cut the light bulb’s end at the last turn of its metal screw. Then, remove the wiring and ensure that no glass fragments are left inside the light bulb. Set it aside and work with the bottle, making two holes in the cap. Place the cap on the bottom part of the light bulb and secure it with the tape. Make sure that the light bulb is air tight by adding more tape. Finally, insert a straw into one of the holes and leave the other hole open. The other hole will serve as a ‘smoker’ that will allow excess vapour to dissolve.
When using the improvised vaporizers, put the herbs you want to smoke through the open hole, but if herbs are in chunks, you can place them inside the light bulb before securing it with the cap. Use the lighter to heat up the bulb and when the herbs start to create vapours, inhale them through the straw that you have inserted.
